Norah Jones: The Fall

The Fall is Norah Jones fourth studio album. Jones has created three beautifully crafted solo albums already. This new album, however, includes a lot of collaborative work with perfectly diverse musicians. Jacquire King who is working with Norah, has together with Norah Jones arranged a new musical group to perform with her on The Fall. These musicians on the album perfectly highlight the direction of Norah's music, her voice, her piano playing and song writing. Some of these musicians which will be on the album include Joey Waronker who was the drummer for Beck, and the previous drummer for Bill Withers, James Gadson. Together, these two drummers are soulful, bluesy and new age. The new keyboardist is James Poyser who has worked with Erykah Badu, who has a similar breathy and yet soulful voice which is so similar to Norah. With the addition of the guitarists on this album, the complete album could be nothing short of a perfect harmonious mix of musicians. Marc Ribot, who was the guitarist for Elvis Costello, and Smokey Hormel, the guitarist for Johnny Cash, are both included in this new addition of musicians. I cannot wait to buy this album, and to hear the beautiful melodies which have been created by Norah and the musicians playing with her. - Greger
